Simply Weddings FAQs
General

How much does your service cost?

Our Pricing page has details of our most popular packages but if you don't see what you want, contact us for a bespoke quote.

Do you provide pre-wedding consultation?
We do – we can arrange a meeting with you both for a consultation before you book to explain our services and so you can get to know us before you make a decision. Once your booking is confirmed, we will then arrange to visit your chosen venue and then meet you both again on a number of occasions prior to your wedding so that we can plan the photography for your day as effectively as possible. If we are available we also like to attend your wedding rehearsal – this gives us a chance to meet your immediate members of family and get a feel for how your ceremony will be structured.

Do you use digital or standard film?
We use digital technology as that removes the restrictions on how many images we can shoot. It also enables us to make cosmetic changes to your images if required and store your proofs indefinitely in more than one place for safety.

How far are you willing to travel for weddings?
We can cover weddings nationwide and even abroad - for weddings where an overnight stay is required the night prior to the wedding, we will ask you to put us up in a nearby hotel overnight. Don't worry, we're not expecting the Ritz ! A Travelodge or Travel Inn is fine, and if booked well in advance you can take advantage of some really cheap prices.

Wedding Service

How long will the photographer spend at the wedding?
On all Full Day pacakges we will start your photography as early as you want to – our female photographer is available to photograph the bride’s make-up preparations, and if you have a second photographer, he or she will photograph the groom and his usher’s preparations if required.
Our coverage for full day packages takes us through until after your speeches and the cutting of the cake. If you wish your photography to go beyond this time, that can be arranged at an additional cost - this will all be discussed during your pre-wedding consultations.

What kind of style do you have? (Traditional, Reportage etc)
Personally we prefer the more informal, reportage style but most weddings need at least a couple of the more traditional images. These are usually group photos of specific family groupings and at least one photo of all of the guests with the bride and groom. We will discuss your wishes with you at your pre-consultation meetings so that on the day we arrive with a comprehensive list of your requirements to ensure that we don’t miss anything.

Some of your packages have the option to add a second photographer – why is this?
We’ve found that having two photographers enables us to get better of coverage of your wedding as we work independently of each other – this way the second photographer can cover what’s going on behind the first photographer’s back and ensure we capture the more candid and spontaneous images of your day.

After Wedding Service

When will the images be available to view?
Your proofs will be available to view at your post-wedding consultation - this usually takes place a day or two after you return from your honeymoon.

How will our guests be able to buy images?
Each package includes an online gallery containing your proofs – your family and friends can purchase your photos in a variety of sizes using our secure credit and debit card payment facility.

Can I purchase the full copyright for the images?
All packages that contain albums or books include a copyright-free disc of the images chosen for your album, but we are happy to work out a cost for you to purchase the remainder of your proofs if you require..
